Snake Returns (“the app”) is published by Silverback Enterprises (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information is collected when you play, who collects it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- The app has no accounts and never requires personal information — no name, no phone number, no contacts, no photos. The one thing you can choose to give us is a message through Settings → Send Feedback, with an email address only if you want a reply.
- Your game progress (high score, games played, unlocked themes, settings) is stored only on your device. We never receive it.
- The app includes a small number of third-party services — for advertising, the ad-free purchase, analytics, crash reporting, install attribution and leaderboards. Those services collect device identifiers, usage data and diagnostic data, described below. None of it is linked to your name or identity by us.
- Where the law requires consent, no ad is requested until you have made a choice. Until then analytics and install attribution run in a restricted mode, described under “Consent and tracking”. You can change your choice at any time from Settings → Privacy options.
Information stored on your device
Your lifetime high score, games played, unlocked themes, control layout and sound/haptics settings are saved in the app’s local storage on your device. They are not sent to us. Uninstalling the app deletes them, except where your device’s own backup restores app data.
Third-party services and what they collect
| Service | Provider | Why the app uses it | What it collects |
|---|---|---|---|
| AdMob (Google Mobile Ads, with Google’s User Messaging Platform) | Google LLC | Shows the optional rewarded-video continue, run-boundary interstitials and death/hub screen banners; presents the consent form | Advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS if you allow tracking, Android Advertising ID), device and app information, ad interactions, approximate location derived from IP address, diagnostic data |
| Firebase Analytics | Google LLC | Aggregate product statistics used to tune the game — run length, score distribution, how often the continue is taken, ad availability, theme unlock progress | App-instance identifier, usage events, device model and OS version, approximate country. No event carries your name, email or any other personal identifier |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Google LLC | Crash and error reports so we can fix defects | Crash traces, device model, OS version, app version, a Crashlytics installation identifier |
| RevenueCat | RevenueCat, Inc. | Processes and restores the one-time “Remove ads” purchase | An anonymous app-user identifier, purchase history for this app and the store receipt. Payment details are handled by Apple or Google, never by us or RevenueCat |
| Singular | Singular Labs, Inc. | Measures which campaign or shared link led to an install | Advertising identifier (where permitted), IP address, device and app information, install and share-link attribution events, and — if you buy “Remove ads” — the product, currency and amount of that purchase |
| Game Center (iOS) / Google Play Games Services (Android) | Apple Inc. / Google LLC | Optional leaderboards and achievements | Your platform gaming profile and the scores and achievements you submit — only if you sign in |
| In-app review | Apple Inc. / Google LLC | Occasionally shows the platform’s standard rating card | Handled by the platform; the app never learns whether or how you rated it |
| Share sheet | Apple Inc. / Google LLC | Lets you share a score card of a finished run | Nothing is sent unless you choose a destination. If you choose Save Image on iOS, the card is saved to your photo library; the app never reads your photos |
| Send Feedback | Silverback Enterprises, hosted on Google Cloud (Firebase) | Lets you send us a message from Settings | The message you write, your email address if you choose to give one for a reply, the app version, your platform (iOS or Android) and whether “Remove ads” is active. The request’s IP address appears in Google Cloud’s server logs |
| Firebase App Check | Google LLC | Confirms a feedback message comes from a genuine copy of the app | A device attestation token issued by Apple (App Attest) or Google (Play Integrity). It carries no personal information |
| Age range signal | Apple Inc. / Google LLC | Where the law requires it (for example Texas), the app reads the age range your device’s app store reports | The age range is read on your device, held in memory only, and never stored, sent to us or to any provider, or used for advertising or analytics |
Each provider handles the data under its own privacy policy: Google · RevenueCat · Singular · Apple.
Consent and tracking
- Where consent is required (for example the EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and US states with privacy laws), the app shows Google’s consent form before any ad is requested. Until you have made a choice, Firebase Analytics runs in Google’s consent mode with storage denied — it sends limited, cookieless measurement signals with no advertising identifier — and Singular records the install, including device identifiers, with data sharing limited, so it is not passed on to advertising partners. This applies to every player, including players who bought “Remove ads”.
- On iOS, the app asks for permission to track through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, the advertising identifier is not available to any service in the app.
- To change your choice at any time, open Settings → Privacy options (shown wherever a consent choice applies). You can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device’s settings.
- Crash reporting does not carry a personal identifier and is not tied to the consent choice.
Purchases
“Remove ads” is a one-time, non-consumable purchase made through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes the payment; we receive only confirmation that the purchase exists so the app can switch ads off. The purchase can be restored from Settings using the same store account.
Children
Snake Returns is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not seek to collect personal information from children under 13. In some regions your device’s app store may tell the app a player’s age range; the app uses that only as the law requires and does not store or share it. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that caused information to be collected, contact us: we will delete anything we hold and work with the relevant provider to have the rest deleted.
Retention
The only player data we hold ourselves is what you send through Send Feedback: your message, and your email address if you gave one. It is stored in our Google Cloud project and in our support mailbox, kept for as long as it is useful for support and improving the app, and deleted on request. Google Cloud keeps the server logs of those requests, which include IP addresses, for its standard log-retention period. All other data collected by the providers above is retained according to their policies; analytics and crash data are kept for the providers’ standard retention periods, after which they are deleted or aggregated.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal data for targeted advertising. To have a feedback message and its email address deleted, write to us at the address below from that email address, or tell us roughly when you sent it. Beyond feedback we hold no data that identifies you, so other requests are best exercised through Settings → Privacy options, your device’s advertising settings, or directly with the providers listed above. You may also contact us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new “Last updated” date.
